It was 2016. Former Disney Channel juggernaut Selena Gomez was coming off the success of her second studio album “Revival,” released in Oct. 2015, and was slated to embark on an international tour with over 100 shows, hitting five different continents and dozens of countries and cities along the way.
Selena Gomez began her acting and singing career working for The Walt Disney Company, more specifically, its television network, Disney Channel. As a child star working for Disney, Gomez was required to maintain a pure and clean image, so as to not tarnish the company’s long-standing family-friendly reputation.
