Hofstra baseball splits doubleheader with JMU in final regular season series

In the opening day of their final series of the regular season, the Hofstra Pride baseball team split a doubleheader at home against James Madison University, winning the first game 4-1 before being edged out in the second match 2-3 on Friday afternoon, May 11.

Hofstra baseball fell to Elon University on Sunday in North Carolina 5-3 to complete the Phoenix’s sweep over the Pride.

This loss also marks Hofstra’s fifth consecutive game out of the win column, bringing the team’s overall record to 14-14 and 4-8 in Colonial Athletic Association play.

Hofstra fails to complete UDel sweep in extra-inning loss

The Pride couldn’t do the talking with their bats this afternoon.

After scoring 20 runs combined in the last two-games, Hofstra only managed to scrap together two-runs and three hits in a 5-2 loss in extra innings to the Delaware Fighting Blue Hens. The Pride failed to complete the sweep of their CAA opponent.

Rooney fires complete game shutout against Delaware

The Hofstra Pride baseball team clicked on all cylinders Friday afternoon at University Field, defeating the University of Delaware 9-0.

John Rooney took the mound and did not disappoint all of the scouts watching in the stands. The southpaw went for a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out 11 batters.
