Women’s lacrosse falls in conference opener at William & Mary

On Saturday, March 18, the Hofstra Pride University women’s lacrosse team began Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play against the College of William & Mary Tribe at Martin Family Stadium in Williamsburg, Virginia.  The Pride lost their second straight game in a close matchup, 13-12. The Pride is now 3-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Women’s lacrosse falls just short against No. 20 USC

On Sunday, March 12, the Hofstra Pride women’s lacrosse team lost to the No. 20 University of Southern California Trojans (USC) in a close matchup, 9-8, at James M. Shuart Stadium. The Pride now sits at 3-5 overall.

Spirited second-half rally comes up short for Pride at No. 8 Towson

Alyssa Parrella tallied four goals and two assists as she led Hofstra women’s lacrosse in a fiery comeback in which they cut a six goal deficit to two goals, but were unable to complete the effort. The Pride fell to No. 8 Towson University 15-11 on Friday night at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Second-half surge leads Hofstra to comeback victory

The Hofstra women’s lacrosse team turned on the jets and pulled off a second-half comeback for the ages on Sunday afternoon, erasing an early 7-1 deficit with a seven-goal run to cap off a 13-11 win over Drexel University at James M. Shuart Stadium.

The Hofstra women’s lacrosse team dropped a home matchup against the University of Delaware on Friday by a final score of 12-8. With the loss, the Pride drops to 7-6 on the season and 1-2 in Colonial Athletic Association competition, while Delaware improves to 6-8 and 1-2 respectively.

Late surge falls short for women’s lacrosse in CAA opener

The Hofstra women’s lacrosse team was unable to overcome two big runs by the Elon University Phoenix in a 12-8 loss on Friday afternoon at James M. Shuart Stadium in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opener. Hofstra now holds a 6-5 (0-1 CAA) record while Elon improves to 2-8 (1-0 CAA).  

Mattera and Whelan shine as Hofstra easily handles Central Connecticut State

The Hofstra women’s lacrosse team dominated Central Connecticut State University on Friday night with a decisive 15-3 victory in New Britain, Connecticut. Freshman Katie Whelan and sophomore Alexa Mattera led the Pride with four goals each. Hofstra improved to 5-4 on the season with the win.

Hofstra cruises to victory over Columbia
