The two-night extravaganza known as WrestleMania 39, took place on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The first night was the main event, a tag team match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship between The Usos and the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

On March 5, the Hofstra Pride wrestling team competed on the second day of the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) championships, held at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Hofstra Pride wrestling team headed down to the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) championships at the University of Pennsylvania (U Penn) on March 4 and 5. The Pride had nine wrestlers competing, with Jacob Ferreira coming into the championships as the teams highest-seeded wrestler at No. 4. Trey Rogers was seeded not far behind at No. 5 and Zachary Knighton-Ward was seeded at No. 8.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, the Hofstra Pride wrestling team won in their final dual of the season, 21-15 against California Baptist University (Cal Baptist).

Oct.18, brought a very special episode of All Elite Wrestling Dynamite, (AEW) not only because it aired on a Tuesday when it typically airs on a Wednesday, but because it featured four title matches in one night. As Jane by Jefferson Starship begins to play, viewers get to see their first matchup of the night.

On Tuesday, March 24, VICEs TV network, VICELAND, premiered season two of critically acclaimed Dark Side of the Ring, a documentary series that explores controversial topics in the world of professional wrestling.

On a cold Sunday afternoon where the  Hofstra wrestling alumni were honored, the Hofstra wrestling team split a doubleheader against Northern Colorado University and Virginia Military Institute at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. They beat VMI 28-15 but fell to Northern Colorado 21-13. Before the match against Northern Colorado, the banner honoring alumni Nick Gallo, Hofstras only nation champion, was unveiled.

Ten Hofstra University wrestlers competed in the Cliff-Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Wrestling Invitational starting on Friday, Nov. 30. The tournament featured top teams from around the country including No. 2 Ohio State University. Hofstras Dylan Ryder (125) was the only wrestler from Hofstra to advance to the second day of the tournament.

Officials, you may now begin your bouts! As those words were broadcasted over the loudspeakers at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex, the crowd erupted. The 2018 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Tournament was underway. This years tournament, running March 3-4, was the 114th running of the event, but the first time Hofstra had hosted the competition.

The Hofstra wrestling team reached 10 dual victories for the first time in six seasons on Saturday, as the Pride edged out Brown University 24-18 before dropping the season finale to Harvard University by a 25-9 score.
