ATLANTIC 10 NORTH
Massachusetts (8-1, 6-0): Steve Baylark rushed for two touchdowns and Liam Coen added two more through the air as the Minutemen held off a late rally by New Hampshire to win their seventh straight, 28-20.
Maine (6-3, 5-1): Quarterback Ron Whitcomb led the way in completing 17 of 21 passes and two touchdowns as the Black Bears toppled Northeastern, 30-3. Maine will attempt to move into a tie for first place as it travels to UMass on Saturday.
New Hampshire (6-3, 3-3): New Hampshire had a strong second half effort in scoring 17 points but in the end came up eight points short at home to UMass. Ricky Santos completed 35 of 55 passes for 383 yards in the losing effort.
Rhode Island (4-5, 2-4): Rhode Island moved closer to the .500 mark with another victory on Saturday, as the Rams have now won back to back conference games. Derek Cassidy only needed seven passes to throw for a 170 yards in leading his team to a 20-13 victory at Hofstra.
Northeastern (3-6, 2-4): Northeastern’s offense struggled for the second straight week as the Huskies fell Maine. Unlike like last week, the defense could not keep the team in the game and got smacked around by a much deeper Maine team.
Hofstra (2-7, 1-5): Hofstra came out flat for the fifth straight week with its loss to Rhode Island. If there were any positives to be taken from the game, Hofstra managed to score double digit points for the first time in two weeks.
