1. Drexel University: 6-0 (0-0) Drexel continued its strong startto the season with two wins this week over LaSalle and at Wagner.Riding the strength of their defense, the Dragons allowed onlynine total goals in their 12-4 and 17-5 victories.
2. No. 11 College of William & Mary: 4-2 (0-0) Rebounding from its mid-week setback against No. 9 Georgetown, William & Mary erased a four-goal defi cit to beat UMBCSaturday, 14-12.
3. George Mason University: 3-2 (0-0) The week started well for the Patriots, as they traveled to Worcester, Mass. and defeated Holy Cross, 12-5, running their winning streak to a season-high three games. The weekend, however, told another story as Mason fell to No. 6 Boston University, 13-6.
3. James Madison University: 3-2 (0-0) Madison didn’t enjoy its weekend trip to West Palm Beach, Fla., as the Dukes were easily beaten by No. 12 Dartmouth, 18-5, Saturday night.
5. University of Delaware: 3-3 (0-0) The Blue Hens showed their grit this week, churning out two one-goal victories over No. 17 Pennsylvania and Brown. Delaware closed Wednesday’s match versus Brown with four unanswered goals, including the gamewinner by Kristin Celluci with 54 seconds remaining to capture the 10-9 victory.
5. No. 18 Towson University: 3-3 (0-0) Towson suffered two hardfought losses this week, 14-13 vs. New Hampshire, and 7-5 against No. 13 Syracuse. The Tigers’ second half surge fell short as New Hampshire sophomore Moira Talbot recorded the game-winner with 11 seconds left in overtime.
7. Old Dominion University: 2-2 (0-0) Old Dominion’s two-game winning streak to start the season quickly became a two-game losing streak as the Lady Monarchs suffered losses to No. 10 Richmond, 22-10, and to No. 4 Maryland, 19-7.
8. Pride: 1-4 (0-0) Looking for turnaround to its season, the Pride tallied its first victory, defeating No. 6 Boston University last Wednesday night at Shuart Stadium, 11-8. Kimberly Hillier scored four goals, including the eventual game-winner.
