1. Drexel University: 4-0 (0-0)
Like its male counterpart, Drexel’s women’s lacrosse team has undergone a hot start, winning its first four games. The Dragons used an 11-5 second half to put away Philadelphia rival St. Joseph’s, 17-8, on Sunday.
2. Old Dominion University: 2-0 (0-0)
Caroline Jacobs and Melody Shotwell each netted three goals and Jacobs added two assists as Old Dominion captured an 11-7 victory over UMBC on Saturday. The Lady Monarchs will travel to No. 4 Maryland on Saturday before having four consecutive home contests from March 25-April 2.
3. James Madison University: 3-1 (0-0)
James Madison took a perfect 3-0 record into No. 14 Notre Dame on Sunday and quickly built a 7-3 halftime lead. However, the Irish got three second-half goals from Crysti Foote en route to a 12-11 victory.
3. No. 16 Towson University: 3-1 (0-0)
Coming off a quadruple-overtime win over George Washington, and a 16-13 victory over Connecticut, Towson stumbled in the third game of its four-game home stand, losing 10-6 to No. 18 University of Pennsylvania.
3. No. 19 College of William & Mary: 3-1 (0-0)
William & Mary took a 9-4 lead into halftime in Sunday’s game at No. 7 Penn State and held on for a 14-12 win. Emily Vitrano scored five goals for the Tribe, who will travel to UMBC over the weekend.
6. George Mason University: 2-1 (0-0)
George Mason followed a season-opening loss at Maryland with home victories over Virginia Tech and George Washington. The Patriots will travel to New England to play Holy Cross and No. 11 Boston University before returning home for four straight games.
7. University of Delaware: 1-3 (0-0)
Following a double-overtime win over Denver on Feb. 28, the Blue Hens have since dropped two home games to Rutgers and UMBC. Delaware will host Brown on Sunday before hitting the road for five consecutive games.
8. Pride: 0-4 (0-0)
The Pride’s struggled continued on Sunday, as the team dropped a 13-5 decision at Cornell. The Pride will look to snap out of its losing ways with upcoming home games against the University of Massachusetts and No. 12 Loyola.
