Elmont
-Eduardo Miranda, 22, of Hempstead, entered the Mobil Mini Mart gas station located on Hempstead Tpke. on Nov. 20 and confronted the employee. The subject walked behind the counter where he pulled out a knife and demanded money. After the victim refused, a struggle ensued between the employee and defendant at which time the victim was stabbed in the right arm.
Farmingdale
-An unknown male subject entered the Delta gas station on South Main Street on Nov. 20 and demanded money of the station manager. The victim grabbed the knife and a struggle ensued during which the victim sustained lacerations to his hand. The subject, described as a white male, 19, 5 feet 10 inches tall, brown hair, clean shaven and wearing a gray jacket, fled the location with the knife, but no proceeds.
Freeport
-A female victim was walking to work on Merrick Road on Nov. 20 when Stephanie Cardoso, 19, and Alyssa Sutton, 19, grabbed her from behind and removed her pocketbook. Both subjects fled on foot to an apartment on Merrick Road.
Garden City
-Garden City South Fire Department responded to a fire at Georgia’s Tailor Shop on Nassau Blvd. on Nov. 24 and extinguished the fire. The fire started in the basement and caused minor smoke damage to the shop and adjacent stores. The fire is deemed suspicious and is being investigated.
Manorhaven
-Adrien Tobar, 35, and Samuel Yanes, 27, both of Manorhaven, struck a 22-year-old male victim several times about the head with a wooden pole on Nov. 24. The victim was transported to North Shore Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition, suffering multiple fractures to his skull.
Massapequa
-Undercover officers received illegal massages on Nov. 20 from defendants Xian Feng Zheng, 43, of Mass. And Yanjie Cui, 40, of Flushing inside a building on North Broadway. In addition, Zheng offered to perform a sexual act in exchange for money.
Meadowmere
-A black male subject, stocky build, 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing dark clothing, entered Sleepy’s Mattress Store on Rockaway Tpke. and confronted the salesman, a male victim, 57, on Nov. 24. The subject displayed a handgun and instructed the victim to lie down and hand over his wallet. The victim complied and the subject stole the wallet and then removed a watch from the victim’s left wrist. The subject then sprayed mace around the store and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Merrick
-Police were called to the home of Michael Forbes, 50, on Nov. 21, where they found him appearing alive, but non-responsive. He was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His death was due to asphyxiation. Kelly Forbes, the victim’s 29-year-old wife was arrested and charged with murder.
Mineola
-Adelmo Lopez, 25, entered the Bank of America on Jericho Tpke. on Nov. 21 by breaking a first floor side window. Once inside, he attempted to open several locked teller drawers. He was arrested by third precinct police officers who responded to the scene for an alarm.
New Hyde Park
-Keiyana Washington, 27, of Swinton Ave. was arrested on Nov. 20 for going to numerous Sears department stores between December 2004 and August 2007 and making about 40 purchases using closed credit cards in her name. The loss to Sears was about $58,000 and was discovered by one of Sears’s loss prevention investigators.
– An unknown person or persons entered the Citibank located in the Lake Success shopping plaza on Nov. 26 by cutting a hole through the roof. After gaining entry, the suspect(s) removed and undetermined amount of cash.
Oceanside
-Unknown subjects entered two residences on Montgomery Ave. on Nov. 24 by kicking in the rear doors. The subjects then ransacked the upstairs bedrooms and stole and undisclosed amount of jewelry.
Valley Stream
-A 17-year-old male was sitting on a bench in front of the Lane Bryant store in Green Acres Mall using his Sidekick III cell phone on Nov. 21 when a black male, 18, suddenly grabbed the victim’s cell phone from his hand. The victim stood up in an effort to retrieve his cell phone. Two other black males, 6 feet tall, 18-years-old, proceeded to move quickly toward the victim in a threatening manner
-A 50-year-old male had just returned home and was exiting his vehicle on Nov. 21 when he was approached by a black male in his 30’s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, wearing a gray hoodie over his head and dark jeans. The suspect displayed an automatic handgun and demanded money. The victim complied handing the suspect an undetermined amount of cash. The subject fled on foot southwest on North Drive.
-A male victim, 60, had just finished packing his 2005 Jeep Liberty from selling items outside of a flea market on West Sunrise Highway on Nov. 24 when a black male subject, 6 feet tall, clean shaven, wearing a blue cloth jacket and burgundy hat, pushed the victim to the ground and jumped into the already running Jeep and fled toward Sunrise Highway. The vehicle was recovered one and a half hours later without the contents.
