A look at your records, if you keep them, should indicate that I have been a steady donor to the University over the last several years. My own recollection is that I have donated every year since I graduated in 1962, a total period of about 42 years. And, of course, I agreed to donate this year.
However, in view of the scandalous invitation to disbarred and convicted attorney Lynne Stewart, I hereby withdraw my donation for the current year. This is my protest to that invitation. This invitation is far worse, in my mind, than that of Columbia University to Iranian President Ahmadinejad, as he is not a convicted felon. I cannot fathom what inspired such an invitation to the convicted Stewart, but I personally will not reward the University for being so stupid.
Gerald M. Serlin, Class of 1962.
