Baldwin
-A 23-year-old male answered a knock at the back door of a home on Washington Place on Oct. 10 believing it to be a relative, and was forced back inside by gunpoint by two unknown male subjects. The first subject, armed with a handgun, struck the victim repeatedly in the head and face with the gun while the second subject repeatedly kicked the victim, forcing him to crawl from room to room. The subjects ultimately forced the victim onto a back porch while they reentered the house. The first subject is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, 190 pounds and armed with a handgun. The second subject is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, wearing a doo-rag and socks on his hands.
Bethpage
-After arranging a meeting at an area motel via the Internet, Ortega Constanza, 49, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., offered to engage in sexual activity with an undercover officer in exchange for money on Oct. 10.
Cedarhurst
-Two unknown Hispanic males armed with a handgun and wearing dark ski masks approached a male victim, 55, and female victim, 55, in front of 351 Rugby Road on Oct. 13, and demanded the male victim hand over the handbag he was carrying. When the victim complied, the subjects fled on foot eastbound to Buckingham Road where they entered a black car and left the scene.
East Meadow
-A 29-year-old male victim was working inside an Exxon on Hempstead Tpke. when an apparently intoxicated Hispanic male entered, produced a knife and demanded money on Oct. 10. The victim then produced a bat, which he swung at the subject, and a fight ensued during which the subject bit the victim and struck him with the knife repeatedly, causing him to relinquish a small amount of cash. The subject fled with the money in an unknown direction.
Freeport
-A 21-year-old male victim was walking eastbound on Broadway on Oct. 10 when he was approached by an apparently intoxicated Hispanic male subject, in his mid 30’s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build, with a goatee and talking to himself. As he passed, the subject suddenly slashed at the victim’s face, causing a laceration, and when the victim turned to swing at the subject in retaliation, the subject slashed at the victim again, this time at his chest with what appeared to be a pocket knife.
Hicksville
-An MSBA bus, while making a right turn from southbound Newbridge Road onto westbound Old Country Road on Oct. 12, pulled into the bus stop and struck Adriano Terranova, 37, who was on a bicycle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the bus was tested for alcohol with negative results.
Massapequa
-A female victim, 31, was awakened by four loud gunshots on Oct. 14. The police responded and found she casings in four holes in the front exterior walls. The interior of the home sustained one hole and a broken radio.
North Woodmere
-Police officers observed a 1997 Jeep, operated by Ana Garcia, 23, on Rockaway Tpke, on Oct. 13 with an obstructed view caused by a blue figurine hanging from the rear view mirror. Officers stopped the vehicle and observed that two Pennsylvania State DOT stickers were forged copies. Garcia then produced a social security card for identification that was also observed to be a forged copy.
Uniondale
-Luis Hidalgo, 27, unlawfully entered a residence on Fenimore Ave. on Oct. 11 and remained there. Hidalgo was confronted by the homeowner, male victim, 64. Hidalgo then punched and kicked the victim in the head and face and struck the victim with a karaoke machine. During the ensuing struggle, Hidalgo bit off the victim’s right ear.
Valley Stream
-Three male subjects armed with a handgun entered Sunoco Gas Station on Sunrise Highway on Oct. 15 and confronted the attendant along with a customer who was in the station. The subjects, who stole an undisclosed amount of cash, cigars and cigarettes, fled the scene on foot eastbound on Sunrise Highway. The first subject is described as a black male, 20, medium build, wearing a black t-shirt over a red hooded sweatshirt with a hood covering his head and a red bandana covering his face. The second subject is described as a black male, 20, medium build, wearing a dark hooded pullover sweatshirt, gloves, a red bandana over his face, dark pants and black and white sneakers. The third is described as a black male, 20, medium build, wearing a dark green hooded jacket with a white logo on the left breast, dark pants and a black bandanna over his face.
Westbury
-An unknown subject struck a male victim, 37, in the head and face with an unknown object while exiting the parking lot of Commerce Bank on Old Country Road on Oct. 13. The victim became disoriented from the assault and drove himself to an area hospital for treatment. Additionally, he discovered that his money was missing from his wallet.
