High pitched shrieks, braces, and 6,000 people all add up to one night at Hofstra: Justin Bieber’s concert for 92.3 NOW FM. Youtube artist Justin Bieber is a mere 15 years old and performed in front of a sold out show on October 9th in the Hofstra Dome.
The feedback and positive attention Justin got was extremely high. The demographic for the concert was mostly a “teenybopper” crowd, with a few college-aged girls added to the mix. His catchy up-beat hits and love ballads were enough to make any girl’s heart melt. .
Moms, dads, and kids lined up the night before and camped out to get a good seat at the concert. The noise intensity throughout the show was cranked to the max. Along with a few other artists that shared the stage and opened up, Bieber came on at about 8pm and sang four songs. During his performance he brought two young girls up on the stage and serenaded them, causing quite the fan frenzy in the stands. He sang live, danced, and played the acoustic guitar during his performance. Some of his dance move highly resembled those of pop icon, Usher.
You may recognize Justin Bieber from his debut singing Chris Brown’s hit single “With You” on youtube. At a staggering 12 years old the singer caught the eye of many youtube fans all over the country, with thousands of hits in the first week of the video’s intial post. Usher and Justin Timberlake discovered Justin Bieber through the video. Both Timberlake and Usher fought to sign Bieber to get him on their label and market him to the pop phenomenon he is today. Usher ultimately signed Bieber and works as his mentor and confidant.
After the show Bieber was set to sing on NBC’s morning show and the Today show. He was last seen at the MTV Video Music Awards before his Hofstra University appearance.
At the tender age of 15 he delivered a solid performance and left even the mothers in the audience in a happy mood at the end of the show. He was fan-friendly, had great stage presence, and knew how to make the tweens swoon.
