David Green is an Associate Professor in the department of political science at Hofstra University. He joined the Hofstra faculty in 2000 and is up for promotion to full professor this semester.
Before Professor Green joined Hofstra community he received an array of academic degrees. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of California at Riverside in 1980.
He has also acquired three Masters of Arts degrees in varying disciplines. First he received an M.A. in 1982 in public administration from University of California at Riverside.
Then he gained an M.A. in international relations from University of Illinois and another M.A. from University of Wisconsin in 1996 in comparative politics. He also gained a Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin for comparative politics in 1999.
Professor Green has taught a wide variety of courses since his arrival at Hofstra. Even though David Green was originally trained in comparative politics and international politics he has gone on to teach a wide offering of courses such as American politics, European politics, foreign policy and political fiction.
He also teaches a class in January that visits the U.N. and on occasion his classes have met foreign leaders like Iranian President Muhammad Ahmadinejad. Over his career, David Green has taught more than a dozen different courses.
Besides his teaching duties he is also very active in political commentary and election.
He regularly contributes to his personal blog called the Regressive Antidote and was a contributor for www.AlterNet.org David Green has worked on many election campaigns such as Harry Britt’s 1987 congressional campaign where he lost to future Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
