TOURNEY TALKIt was a very exciting day for Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) fans, as the conference saw three teams selected to the NCAA Soccer Cup Tournament. The CAA champion Pride will host a tournament game for the first time in team history, after beating James Madison in the semi-finals and No. 7 Old Dominion in the finals for the second consecutive year. Its opponent will be Providence College (6-3-9)James Madison (12-6-2) will travel to UNC Greensboro (15-5-0) in the first round, while ODU (15-3-2) received a first round bye and will host the winner of the Wake Forest/South Carolina first round match-up.In the Pride bracket, the other first round match-up will be Stetson against South Florida. The winner of that game will meet No. 13 Virginia, while the Pride/Providence victor will head to Chapel Hill to face No. 4 North Carolina.Last season, after making a miraculous CAA title run, the Pride managed to score a victory in the first round at Seton Hall before falling to Maryland in the second round. And while the thought of two straight years with a tournament victory is enticing to think about, head coach Richard Nuttall knows looking ahead is pure poison.”We’re not going to look past any game, we’re just going to look at the first game,” he said. “Get organized, work hard and figure out how we’re going to play [against Providence].”Providence received an at-large selection out of the Big East Conference after an unusual season in which half its games ended in ties.CAA’S FINESTSenior forward Michael Todd and sophomore midfielder Chris Cox were named first team All-CAA in a vote of conference coaches last Thursday. Joining them as second-team members were juniors Constantinos Christoudias and Gary Flood and All-Rookie Corey Gudmundson.
