To read how the Diocese of Rockville Centre does business is just mind boggling. Ask any MBA student or professor on campus and they will tell you if a product isn’t broke then don’t fix it. Spokesperson Sean Dolan was quoted as saying “Like in any company, when you’re trying to update your product, some jobs will be affected.” The Holy Bible and Christianity have been around for about 2000 years and the Bible is still the number one best seller year after year. It really doesnt need updating. The only thing that needs updating is the business philosophy of the Dioceses. It doesn’t matter if your business is a local mom and pop store, or a multinational business. The customer always comes first. Both the faculty and the student body agree that Sister Kathy should stay on campus. Furthermore, what message is the Diocese sending to the Hofstra community in this latest incident? Is ‘happy birthday, your old, we found someone young, now your fired…’ really a business you would want to work with or for? In conclusion, if the Dioceses really wants to change for the better…maybe they should just change the way they think.Daniel AndrewsMember of the Hofstra Community
