Men’s BasketballGuard Loren Stokes scored 23 points on 10 of 20 shooting and carried the Pride in its 82-68 loss to ODU in the first round of the CAAs. It was the All-CAA Rookie’s 15th consecutive game with double-digit points. He added five rebounds and four steals.
Men’s LacrosseMiddie Ryan Miller had four foals and an assist in the Pride’s 14-9 victory over Binghamton in the snow Monday. Ryan Vilar scored three consecutive goals to help the Pride overcome a 7-5 deficit Saturday against No. 7 Loyola. The Pride got their first victory, 9-8.
WrestlingScoring 111 points and placing eight of nine wrestlers in the finals, The Pride blew away the rest of the CAA and claimed its third straight crown. Tom Noto became the eight Pride wrestler to ever capture three straight conference championships. Eight Pride wrestlers will compete at the NCAA Division I Championships starting March 18.
Not So Prime Time PlayersThe Pride basketball team, which lost by 14 to ODU in the CAA Tournament, missed 17 free throws and shot 43.3 percent from the charity stripe. Worse yet, the team made just 5 of 24 three-point shots in getting ousted without winning a conference tournament game for the first time in six years.
