Griffin Turner of the Hofstra University men’s lacrosse team announced he is transferring to Ohio State University on Thursday, June 27.
The southern California native reached career highs with 16 goals, 28 assists and 44 points this season as a junior. Starting in all 15 games, Turner’s strong season landed him on the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) First Team.
Turner made Hempstead his home for three years after transferring from Texas Christian University’s club team in 2021. Throughout his Hofstra career, Turner improved tremendously from season to season in almost every statistic.
Hofstra head coach Seth Tierney referred to Turner as “the motor” of the team on multiple occasions in 2024. Turner’s consistent production was timely for the Pride, scoring multiple points in 13 of 15 games.
Turner exits Hofstra on an unprecedented 24-game point streak since April 30, 2022. With Turner’s transfer, the Pride must replace all their starting attackers and one starting midfielder in 2025.
Turner joins the Buckeyes who went 1-4 in Big Ten conference play in 2024.
