In a chain of recent street robberies, Nassau County Police arrested two Hempstead men who robbed a University student at gunpoint.
Three males approached the student on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Oak Street around 11 p.m. last Monday. Police said one of the men pulled out a gun and demanded money. The student gave them $70.00, but did not give up his cell phone.
When the men fled he called the police.
Pedro Sibrian, 18, of Hempstead and a 15-year-old male were arrested. The third man was not charged.
The gun was recovered and no one was injured.
