Hofstra baseball keeps playoff hopes alive at Monmouth

The Hofstra Pride baseball team kept their playoff hopes alive on Saturday afternoon with a 9-1 win over the Monmouth University Hawks. The Pride hit their way to victory as they recorded 17 hits to the Hawks’ two. After the win, Hofstra currently sits at 12-13 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play and seventh in the conference. Monmouth is 5-16 in CAA play and 10th in the conference.

Friday afternoon’s doubleheader with the conference-leading University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks presented a roller coaster of emotions for the Hofstra Pride baseball team, as they split a pair of hard-fought contests under an ominous gray sky at University Field. After moving to 10-13 in conference play following the split, Hofstra continues to remain within striking distance of the final spot in the CAA Tournament bracket with seven games remaining.

Hofstra baseball swept in blowout defeats at Northeastern

The Hofstra Pride baseball team’s game set for Saturday, April 22, turned into a doubleheader because of rain in the forecast for Sunday. The Boston backdrop at Northeastern University was the site of two losses for the Pride, as the Huskies completed the weekend sweep.

Hofstra baseball completes series sweep with 13-0 win over Towson

Timely hitting and dominant pitching came together for the Hofstra Pride baseball team on Sunday afternoon, as the Pride cruised to a 13-0 win and secured a much-needed series sweep over the Towson University Tigers at University Field. The Pride evened their CAA (Colonial Athletic Association) record at 9-9 on the season, and now stand 1.5 games back of the final spot in the conference tournament with 12 games left to play.

Hofstra baseball opens A&T series with 9-5 loss

On Friday, March 24, the Hofstra Pride baseball team dropped the first game of a three-game road set against the North Carolina A&T University Aggies by a final score of 9-5. The loss is the Pride’s 14th of the season, bringing their record thus far to 7-14. The Pride have had an up-and-down year so far, as they started off the season with four straight losses followed by three straight wins. Although the record does not reflect it, Hofstra has been in many close games so far this season.
