The Hofstra University men’s soccer team defeated the Providence College Friars in a six-goal thriller at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, Rhode Island, on Friday, Sept. 1. The Pride advanced to 2-1 and got their first road win of the season.
Hofstra University’s Sean Nealis was drafted to the New York Red Bulls during the 2019 Major League Soccer SuperDraft in Chicago, Illinois on Jan. 11. The senior defender was drafted first in the second round and 25th overall.
In a match decided by penalty kicks, the Hofstra men’s soccer team fell short of a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship as they were defeated by James Madison University (JMU) Dukes on Sunday, Nov. 11, with a final score of 2-1.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, the Hofstra men’s soccer team took a close victory on the road, defeating the Elon Phoenix by a score of 2-1. The win was their fourth in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play, bringing their conference record to 4-2-1.
Hofstra men’s soccer fell to Ohio State in a 1-0 shortened game on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 26, at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The game was shortened in the 84th minute due to a lightning delay and travel restrictions.
