The Hofstra University Museum of Art currently houses an exhibition called Our Unfinished Revolutions. Jeremy Dennis is one of three artists, whose art is featured. He is a member of the Shinnicock Indian Nation, in Southampton. Indigenous peoples, as he described, have historic trauma around being photographed, so he has reversed and reclaimed that experience through his work. His photography tells stories of colonialism, captures the beauty of indigenous culture, and exposes the general horrors the community has and continues to face.
