6. “Breaking Dawn Part I,” starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
Just kidding. This movie was terrible, but it was fun to see it at midnight with all the Twi-hards and make fun of it.
5. “I Am Number Four,” starring Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron
I saw this with low expectations, especially because I hadn’t read the book. I enjoyed it. I liked seeing Dianna Agron in a non-singing role. Plus, she wasn’t the popular cheerleading type (finally). I’ll go see another movie with Alex Pettyfer in it any day.
4. “Black Swan,” starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis
I’m counting this in 2011 because it was released in selected theaters with a week to go before 2011 turned. Obviously, this movie is an incredible psycho-thriller, and gets props for the soundtrack as well.
3. “Larry Crowne,” starring Tom Hanks
I will go see any movie that has Tom Hanks in it, ever. This one pleasantly surprised me; I wasn’t sure what his directorial debut would have in store. This story didn’t seem exaggerated, but was just a real-life, regular guy trying to go about his life in this tough economy.
2. “Bridesmaids,” starring Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph
These Saturday Night Live graduates proved their acting and comedy chops with this movie. It’s got tons of memorable lines and great scenes that had me laughing for hours. Plus, Melissa McCarthy steals the scene in the bridal shop.
1. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II,” starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint
Not only is this movie (finally) getting some Oscar buzz, but it also closed out my childhood. The movie stayed true to the books – the first in the series to do so, and to do it well. Whether you saw it in 3D or not, this movie will most likely top everyone’s list.
