The NCPD prepared a report on Feb. 9 after a student reported to Public Safety that his wallet, containing his Hofstra ID, fifteen dollars and a credit card, was stolen from a locker in the Fitness Center.
A brand new blue mountain bike was found by a PSO on patrol near Weller Hall. The bike was taken to the HIC for safe keeping.
Public Safety received a call from the Fitness Center administrator on Feb. 9 saying that a non-student refused to leave at 5 p.m., when all non-students are required to leave. The non-student was taken to the HIC and banned from campus.
A student reported to Public Safety that on Feb. 9 when he was returning to his vehicle parked in the Stuyvesant Hall parking lot, that his rear windshield was shattered.
Two non-students were taken to the HIC and banned from campus on Feb. 9 after a PSO on patrol saw the non-students placing flyers on vehicles parked in the Human Resources parking lot.
A delivery driver from Singa’s Famous Pizza reported to Public Safety that after he delivered a pizza to Enterprise Hall on Feb. 9, he saw that the advertising sign on top of his vehicle was stolen. He reported to Public Safety that it was taken by people in a blue pick-up truck. A search was conducted, and the sign was not found.
A Residential Life staff member reported to Public Safety that while conducting Health and Safety inspections in the Breukelen House on Feb. 10, a marijuana grinder and knife were found and confiscated from a room. The resident of the room received an appearance summons.
A student reported to Public Safety that when she returned to her vehicle parked in the C.V. Starr parking lot on Feb. 10, she noticed that there were key scratches on the hood of her car. An investigation was conducted, and police assistance was declined.
A 1994 Honda Civic was reported stolen to Public Safety on Feb. 11. The student stated that she parked her vehicle in parking field 6, near the Student Center, and that sometime between 4 p.m. on Feb. 10 and 5 p.m. Feb. 11 the vehicle went missing. A search of the campus for the car was conducted with no results. NCPD is investigating.
An individual attempted to use a fake ID to enter the party at Hofstra U.S.A. on Feb. 12. A PSO assigned to the party realized the I.D. was a fake. The individual was apprehended, discovered to be a non-student and banned from the campus.
A PSO on patrol at the party at Hofstra U.S.A. on Feb. 12 observed two individuals trying to pry open the rear door of Hofstra U.S.A. Both individuals were identified as non-students, taken to the HIC and banned from campus.
Public Safety responded to a room in Bill of Rights Hall on the report of a student that got her foot stuck between the bed frame and footboard on Feb. 12. When Public Safety arrived, they were unable to get her foot out, and the duty supervisor was notified. The Plant Department then responded to the location and sawed a wooden slat in order to release her foot. There were no injuries.
Public Safety responded to Brower Hall on Feb. 14 on the report of a disorderly student. When they arrived, they met with the student who stated that he had taken two pain killers for his shoulder, drank two beers and smoked marijuana. The student was taken to the HIC, crisis counselors responded to the location along with an ambulance. The student was treated, released and will be seen by counseling services in the future.
