On Nov. 6 at 1:15 a.m., a PS officer found three students smoking marijuana behind the Fitness Center while on patrol. A grinder and rolling papers were confiscated and the three students were issued summonses.
On Nov. 6 at 6 a.m., a PS officer observed a vehicle driving recklessly on the North campus. The driver refused to stop initially and was finally stopped in front of the Graduate Residence Hall. The NCPD was notified and the driver was identified as a nonstudent and banned from campus.
On Nov. 6 at 4:10 p.m., a Hofstra administrator reported to PS that a student carrying a heavy backpack accidentally tipped over a bronze sculpture in the David Filderman Gallery. The incident caused damage to the wall the sculpture was attached to and the sculpture itself will also need to be repaired.
A PS officer on patrol in Colonial Square observed on Nov. 7 that the flat screen television in the first floor lounge of New York House was damaged. A search was conducted for the person responsible but returned negative. An investigation will be conducted.
On Nov. 7 at 6:15 p.m., PS smelled the odor of marijuana coming from a room in Alliance Hall while conducting a search of the building. PS keyed into the room and found an open closet door with an open safe inside. In the safe they found a mason jar with marijuana residue and other drug paraphernalia. PS seized the items and the residents of the room will be issued summonses.
On Nov. 9 at 5 p.m., a Hofstra student reported to PS that her roommates were harassing her because of her religious affiliation. She reported that they removed a flag from above her bed and poured hair conditioner on her sheets. The matter was reported to the RD and a room change is in progress.
On Nov. 10, an RA in Groningen House reported to PS that she discovered the odor of marijuana coming from one of the rooms. PS keyed into the room and found a glass bong with marijuana residue, a bottle of rum and an unopened bottle of beer inside. The items were confiscated and the two residents were issued summonses.
An RA in Bill of Rights reported to PS on Nov. 10 that they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from one of the rooms. PS responded and found five students inside the room. No marijuana was recovered, however the students admitted to smoking marijuana when questioned. All five students were given summonses.
On Nov. 11, an RA in Munich House reported to PS that they smelled marijuana coming from a dorm. PS responded and smelled the odor as well. Upon entering PS found five students inside of the room. No marijuana was recovered, but all five students received summonses.
On Nov. 11, PS received an anonymous complaint that there was an odor of marijuana in Tilburg House. PS responded and keyed into the room. The resident was inside the room and admitted to smoking marijuana and PS confiscated a small bong found inside the room. The student was issued a summons.
