A student reported an incident of stalking to the information center on Sept. 11. The student’s boyfriend, a non-student, sent harassing emails and followed the student to class. The student denied police action and the non-student was banned from campus. PS sent the non-student a letter.
On Sept. 11, a student reported that the lower front grill on his vehicle, which was parked on East campus, was stolen on Sept.10. The student declined police assistance.
On Sept. 11, PS detected two unidentified males trespassing on the soccer fields. The men fled when approached and no further action was taken.
On Sept. 12, a student parked their car on the swim center roadway at 5:00 p.m. When they returned at 8:00 p.m., the vehicle was damaged. The student reported to PS that the rear view mirror was damaged and the door dented. Police assistance was declined.
A student reported on Sept.12 that the front and rear hood of their car, parked by Nassau Hall, had been damaged. There were no witnesses. Police assistance was declined.
PS reported a vehicle driving recklessly on Sept. 12. They stopped the vehicle around the fitness center and found that the driver was a non-student and the passenger was a student. There was an odor of marijuana, and when the driver and passenger were questioned, they admitted to smoking. PS did not recover any marijuana but did issue the non-student driver a ban from campus and the student a summons.
On Sept. 13, two students reported to the HIC that on several occasions they were harassed on social media by a student they know at Hofstra. They declined police assistance and an investigation by PS is being conducted.
On Sept. 14, a student lost their wallet in the basement of Axinn library. While the wallet was later returned, $100 cash, a driver’s license and credit card were gone. There were no witnesses to the theft and police assistance was declined. The student was told to notify the DMV and their credit card company.
PS detected the odor of marijuana in Constitution Hall on Sept. 14. When PS knocked, there was no reply. They keyed in and discovered a plastic bag with marijuana residue, which was confiscated. The residents were issued summonses.
An administrator reported to PS on Sept. 15 that sometime between July 15 and Sep. 7 three iMac computers were stolen from the room in Memorial Hall. The search proved negative and PS will continue their investigation.
On Sept. 15, a student reported that their bicycle, which had been locked to the rack outside Axinn Library, was stolen. A search was conducted but the person responsible was not located. Police assistance was declined.
On Sept. 15, PS officers on patrol detected the odor of marijuana from the women’s field hockey field. Upon investigation, three students were found smoking. One student produced a blue bag filled with marijuana when questioned. The marijuana was confiscated and given to the NCPD and the students were issued summonses for drug abuse violation.
On Sept. 16, a Compass Dining Group manager reported disruptive conduct by a student in the West Plaza room of the Student Center. PS confronted the student, who was vocal, and issued them a summons.
