Food insecurity has reached new heights since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coupled with the rising unemployment rate, the unpredictable shortage of food has left millions of Americans starving. Youth who rely on schools being open to receive meals are especially vulnerable to this food shortage, along with elderly people for whom it is difficult or dangerous to leave their homes.
To address this issue, Fanatics founder and Philadelphia 76ers partner Michael Rubin organized a fundraising campaign called the ALL IN Challenge with the goal of helping feed and support children, seniors, the unemployed and essential workers. The ALL IN Challenge Foundation will donate 100% of proceeds to No Kid Hungry, America’s Food Fund and Meals on Wheels, directly benefiting Feeding America and World Central Kitchen. Michael Rubin stated, “I believe when the world faces [a] crisis, businesses and sports have an obligation to step up and make a difference.” On Tuesday, April 14, the challenge kicked off and will continue until tens of millions of dollars are raised for COVID-19 relief.
The world’s foremost entertainers are participating in the ALL IN Challenge. Musicians, business moguls, teams, actors and athletes are “challenging” each other on social media to provide possessions and once-in-a-lifetime experiences for fans to both bid on and enter for a chance to win.
For example, Ellen DeGeneres is giving a lucky winner the chance to be a co-host on her talk show. Justin Bieber will sing “One Less Lonely Girl” at his contest winner’s house. Paris Hilton has also accepted the ALL IN Challenge, rewarding the winner with a chance to hang out with Hilton and attend the premiere of her new documentary, “This is Paris.” Kim Kardashian jumped onto the challenge by announcing on Instagram that she would offer the winner and a guest the chance to have lunch at a top spot in Los Angeles with the Kardashian sisters. Jimmy Kimmel accepted the challenge; the winner will sit in with Kimmel’s live band on the show. Ariana Grande is offering a studio hangout and dinner with the winner. Quavo also accepted the challenge, as he offered to produce a song for the winner and race Lamborghinis with them. Another winner will be able to play 5 on 5 with David Beckham. Guy Fieri is even offering a Flavortown Experience for his ALL IN Challenge.
Additionally, all six stars of Friends are participating in the ALL-IN Challenge. Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow announced that one lucky winner and five guests will be personal guests in the audience for the cast’s reunion taping on HBO Max.
Participants can enter by visiting www.Allinchallenge.com and selecting the item of their preference and a donation amount. Each donation corresponds to a certain number of entries – the more entries you have, the more likely you are to win.
