The Hofstra women’s basketball team enjoyed one of its most successful seasons in quite some time last year, winning 25 games and advancing to the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) semifinals.
However, last season’s NIT run came at the expense of a disappointing first-round exit from the CAA Tournament. The Pride will be back this year hungrier than ever to hoist the CAA title, and earn that coveted berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Krista Kilburn-Steveskey’s freshmen will be a huge factor for the Pride. After losing a number of veterans, the Pride will have to look to players like Ana Hernandez Gil to mix in with returning starters.
If Hofstra can’t find success from the newcomers, it may be a long season for this team. With James Madison primed to make another run at the top of the conference, Hofstra will have it tough this year.
