On April 26, a Hofstra student reported theft of a personal item between 10:30 and 11:40 p.m. to PS. The student reported that she had left a gift bag unattended while assisting with money collection and drop-off at the Hearts and Hammers Gala in Netherlands Core. Inside the bag was a hammer gavel with her name inscribed, which had been awarded to her during the event. A search was conducted, but proved to be negative. Police assistance was declined.
On May 1 at 6:25 a.m., a Hofstra medical student reported to PS that he had chained his bicycle to the rack on the north side of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine near the Swim Center. When he returned at 7:40 p.m., he discovered that the front wheel had been badly damaged and the bicycle was no longer usable. There were no witnesses and police assistance was declined. An investigation into the incident is underway.
On May 1 at 7:30 p.m., a Hofstra student reported that she had left her belongings at a computer terminal in the Hammer Lab when she went to Bits n’ Bytes for food. When she returned 30 minutes later, she discovered that her belongings had been moved to another table and her phone charger was missing. A search of the area for the charger recovered nothing.
