SGA revealed two campaign tickets running for President and Vice President for 2013-2014. Current SGA president Ron Singh plans to run for re-election with current vice president Andrea Standrowicz. Standrowicz assumed vice presidency following Tevon Hyman’s resignation last semester.
Freshmen Cameron Fritag and Alyssa O’Brian make up the second ticket, running for president and vice president respectively.
If elected, Singh hopes SGA’s senate will continue a legacy of improvement.
“SGA has run more than 86 campaigns on change. We’ve got change,” he said. “We’ve got results …[but] it’s more than just new, it’s about something that can last throughout time.”
Meanwhile, Fritag and Standrowicz both expressed eagerness to strengthen both internal and external SGA affairs.
“We’re looking forward to running for the president and vice president positions in an effort to improve the internal efforts of SGA so that it’s a better external organization,” said Standrowicz.
Fritag would like to strengthen SGA’s relationship with the rest of the Hofstra community.
“I’m looking forward to building up a better relationship with the clubs on campus and working more closely with them while also continuing o outreach through student government,” he said.
