Former Butler University forward Myles Wilmoth has announced he is joining the Hofstra University Pride via the transfer portal per a post on his personal Instagram page.
A 6-foot-9, 215-pound junior, Wilmoth immediately becomes the tallest player on Hofsta’s current roster and fills a void in the frontcourt left by graduating centers Nelson Boachie-Yiadom and Warren Williams. Wilmoth slides right into the previously empty power forward position and will look to add a new dimension to Hofstra’s offense with his athleticism and shooting ability.
Hailing from Chestnut Ridge, NY, Wilmoth was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and ranked as the state’s top player in the 2020 recruiting class, receiving a number of offers from Division I schools before committing to Butler. However, Wilmoth struggled in three seasons with the Bulldogs, in large part due to a series of arm injuries, averaging just 1.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. After appearing in 24 games as a freshman, Wilmoth averaged just 6.5 minutes per game throughout the rest of his tenure at Butler.
Wilmoth has two years of college eligibility remaining and is available to play immediately. Hofstra still has four available roster spots to fill before the start of next season, meaning Wilmoth is likely the first of several dominoes to fall this offseason.
