In a world where we have tiny, super-speedy computers at our fingertips, people seem to have forgotten about common decency and general societal rules. People need a gentle reminder of said rules.
You need to walk to your right. Always. In a right-central country, this rule has existed for centuries. Why people have forgotten it now is not something I care to delve into. I just care that they rectify their grave mistake.
When it comes to doors, always let people out before you go in. This is a simple rule that prevents awkwardness at doorways. Whoever is going out of the space goes first. Then, the door is for whoever is going into the space. Rinse and repeat.
If you need to stop, pull over. Act as if you are a car. There is no need to take up exorbitant amounts of space in the middle of a pathway or a highly trafficked area, like the Unispan.
The zipper-merging system exists for a reason. For this rule, one needs to act like a car again. Only in special circumstances where people are obviously grouped together do we let large groups walk ahead of us at once. The same is true when driving. It should not be difficult to change lanes or turn if one utilizes their turn signal appropriately and is adequately aware of their surroundings.
Slow walkers need to stay to the right. Let those of us who are hustling get to our destination on time and get there without weaving between you.
