“A Collegiette’s Guide to Life,” that’s the club Her Campus motto. Hofstra has had a Her Campus chapter for about five years, but starting this year Her Campus is recognized by OSLA as an official club on campus.
Her Campus is a global community for college women, created by college women. It is a website consisting of articles written on a range of subjects including style, beauty, health and life.
The website is a great read and many students find the articles useful. They have how-to articles, what to wear for Thanksgiving and also funny posts with gifs about things girls at Hofstra say on Thursday nights.
Hofstra’s chapter of Her Campus is run by President Rachel Crocetti. The club meets every other Thursday to discuss upcoming events and articles. Contributors for the site range from freshman to seniors and anyone who would like to be a part of the club can join.
You don’t have to be a journalism major or into magazine writing to be a part of Her Campus.
“If you’re a health science major and really into fitness you can write articles for Her Campus. There is a way for everyone to get involved,” said Crocetti. The club is a great way to get clips for your resume and to get published.
“It’s a super fun organization to be a part of,” said Crocetti. To check out Hofstra’s chapter of Her Campus go to www.hercampus.com/school/hofstra
