Despite solid play in the first half and holding the lead for nearly 12 minutes, the Pride suffered their fourth loss of the season, 3-1, to the Yale Bulldogs at Johnson Field in New Haven, Connecticut on Friday, Sept. 7.  

The Pride (1-4) struck first with 12 minutes and six seconds left in the first half, as freshman Cami Larsson found the back of the net for the second goal of her young career. The only damage Yale (2-0) was able to deliver in the first half came with only 35 seconds left, with junior Bridget Condie scoring her first goal of the season.

The second half, however, was all Yale. Sophomore Imogen Davies put up Yale’s two goals in the half, including one off a rebound during a penalty shot.

Despite the goals, Hofstra’s freshman goalie Betty Bosma has continued to adjust well to the college game, proving this by recording five saves, including some impressive ones in the second half.

Yale was able to double the Pride in both shots and shots on goal. They also attempted seven penalty corners to Hofstra’s five.

The Pride look to bounce back from their rough start to the season in their home opener against the Bryant Bulldogs on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. This will start a two-game homestand for the Pride.
