Last week the Hofstra Chronicle got a chance to sit in a press room round table with Tyler Posey of MTV’s “Teen Wolf.” But before the interview began, Posey decided to let those inner animal instincts out by tasting what was spilled on the table, which was actually Coke. Let’s just say the whole table was a little shocked.
Tyler Posey: What happened here?
Hofstra Chronicle: Linden spilled his Coke.
TP: That’s Coke?
HC: Yep.
TP: That’s Coke! Very tasty.
HC: Are you ready to say goodbye [to the show]?
TP: Yeah, I am. I definitely am. I’m just so happy with of all the sh*t that we’ve conquered. A hundred episodes. I’ve met some of the best people in my entire life. I’ve met some of my best friends and family. I got to direct an episode. The things that this show has conquered for me in my life is just … I couldn’t not be happy, you know? And the fact that we’re going to end on the right note … sometimes shows pull the plug after they’ve already finished filming the season but we got the warning before so that we could cater the season to the finale. So that we could finish it off the right way. I’m really happy. I’m really emotional and it’s a huge end of an era. This is my life; this is pretty intense.
HC: About season 6, why do you think Scott keeps losing control of his pack and what can he do to get them back?
TP: You mean why does Scott keep losing control of his pack?
There’s a lot of, Scott is … He’s the true alpha so there’s a lot of people that – not want him dead – but they want him, they want his power. So there’s always an entity or a force that’s really trying to tear the pack from him because they’re trying to get to Scott. And that’s really the only reason the pack gets torn apart so often. It’s nothing personal between them. But how does he get his pack together? Because he’s a badass. He’s the true alpha and he’s all about love. His friends are genuine full of love people and they can tell when he’s being genuine and honest and really cares about them and so everything just kind of falls in line. You know they always see Scott as an inspiration to get the pack back together. And Scott’s really struggling to get the pack back together and everyone’s like, this guy’s our leader we’ve got to follow him.
HC: Why do you think this theme of “Remember Me” is so important for this final season?
TP: Because we didn’t have anything else to think of … probably because it’s the last season and we want everyone to remember the show even though they will. Honestly I don’t know. I’m not sure.
HC: If Scott was in Hogwarts what house would he be in?
TP: I like the one Harry Potter was in. Gryffindor? Gryffindor. He seems like a Gryffindor kind of person, right? Definitely not Slytherin.
HC: So, you listen to a lot of pop-punk music. If you could create a playlist for the last episode and when you’re done filming what would you put on it?
TP: I would put on “Empty Space” by A Story So Far. I would put on “Vacant Home” by Movements, which isn’t pop-punk but it’s a great song. I would put on … what’s that Neck Deep song? The acoustic one? I can’t remember but I would put that one on it. I would put Blink 182’s “Dick Lips” and then I would put on … I’d put one of my band’s songs on it. I don’t know which one. Probably the one about getting STDs. That’s a good one.
HC: What is your favorite season of Scott’s development?
TP: Probably when he turned into the true alpha. He really became the leader and I feel like he really embodied himself and figured out his purpose, you know when he became the true alpha. That was a badass moment.
Make sure you tune in on Nov. 15 for the new season of “Teen Wolf,” on MTV.
