On Monday, April 8, Mexico, The United States and Canada witnessed varying degrees of a solar eclipse. Hofstra’s campus was not located on the path of totality, but saw 89% sun coverage nevertheless. Hofstra University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy provided students, faculty and community members with approved eyewear for the event. Eclipse-viewers gathered outside Hofstra Hall and on the surrounding grassy quads to take in the rare celestial event.
