![Tai Davis I originally came to Hofstra to be an opera singer. At my high school we had NYSSMA [New York State School Music Association]. I performed a solo and my music teacher chose songs that were opera based, so that’s what really got me into [opera singing]. I was actually in the opera in January of last semester. I fell through with it kind of because, at Hofstra, I found that it was more based on being a teacher and that’s not what I wanted to do. So now I am doing public relations, which will prepare me to go into the fashion industry, which is something I’m interested in. I really like fashion and beauty. Actually, I [do] PR for ASA, which is the African Student Association here at Hofstra. I handle all of the public relation events, like making flyers, organizing the events and making the club actually enjoyable. ![Brandon Palmer I am part of a fraternity. It is a Collegiate Black Fraternity that was established in 1906 and our founder’s day is coming up this Saturday, so it is going to be 110 years since we have been established. We are having our party this Saturday at Hofstra USA, so it’s going to be great. It will definitely be a party. I also like to play sports. I play basketball in my free time [and] work out. I used to play football in my high school. If Hofstra still had a football team I would have definitely played. My favorite football team is the Ravens. I was really attached to my parents so Hofstra seemed like a great option where I could be independent, but also closer to home.
