Sophomore students received an email on Monday, December 6 stating that first-year seminars would now be open to them for registration. First-year students have priority in registering for these classes, and those classes have already been opened for registration for first-years for a month.
“At this point, we’re opening them to sophomores because frankly, they’re clamoring to get in,” said Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences for First Year Programs Terry Godlove. “We’ll give the sophomores a week, and then, as of Monday, December 13, we’ll open them to juniors, and then a week later to seniors,” Godlove said. The registration process for these classes is done in a reversed order from that of the usual class registration, which gives seniors first priority.
“I think that classes that have small groups and are able to go on trips will give students a more beneficial experience,” said sophomore Kristin Waltiere. “I wish I had known about these before I made my spring schedule for sophomore year.”
