While on patrol in the courtyard of the Netherlands South found a broken picnic table and a section of a wall had chalk on it. The Plant was notified to get rid of the chalk and fix the picnic table.
Between March 15 and 17, a boot was placed on a vehicle that was parked in the Breslin Hall Parking Lot for illegally parking. On March 17, the tow truck driver went to the area to check for the vehicle and saw it was missing. The vehicle was located and impounded. When the student went to retrieve his vehicle, he was issued a summons for his actions.
While conducting rounds in Estabrook Hall, a RSR supervisor was verbally abused by a Hofstra student who was intoxicated and disruptive.
At 6:30 a.m. on March 18, Public Safety responded to a lockout in the Graduate Residence Hall. After allowing the student into his room and looking at his ID, the Public Safety Officer saw marijuana and a glass pipe. The items were taken and the student was issued a summons.
On March 18, Public Safety received a notification from the mail room that they found a suspicious package that smelled like marijuana and addressed to a student. The student was brought into the Hofstra Information Center and opened up the package, which contained a large bag of marijuana. The student accepted responsibility and was issued an appearance summons. Nassau County Police were notified and confiscated the marijuana.
A room in Nassau Hall was found to have three hookah pipes during a health and safety inspection by Residence Life staff members on March 19. The pipes were confiscated and the student to whom they belonged was issued a summons.
During a health and safety inspection on March 19 in Suffolk Hall, a pipe used for smoking marijuana was found on top of a desk. The student who lived in the room was given a summons.
While conducting health and safety inspections, residence life staff members found a switchblade knife, which was confiscated by Public Safety. A summons was issued to the student to whom it belonged.
On March 21, a Hofstra faculty member who lives in Huntington reported to Public Safety that person now identified as a Hofstra student dropped his shorts and stood on the front lawn of the faculty member’s neighbor in full view of his children. Nassau County Police was notified and it was determined that the student was mooning his friends in a car on the sidewalk.
At 4:30 a.m. on March 24, Public Safety received a report that there was an unknown substance (determined to be fecal matter) smeared on the door handle of Utrecht House. There was also graffiti on the wall.
